Pushkin reading contest scheduled

JAKARTA (JP): The Russian Science and Cultural Center will
hold the final of a contest for the best recital of Alexander
Pushkin's works at noon on Saturday.

Students in the contest, which commemorates the 200th
anniversary of the great Russian poet's birth, are in the Russian
departments at the University of Indonesia and University of
Pajajaran, as well as from the center, the Russian Embassy
announced.

Finalists will recite a selection of Pushkin's short stories,
poems and other writings.

The winner of the contest, to be held at the center at Jl.
Diponegoro 12, Menteng, Central Jakarta, will be sent to Moscow
to compete against successful finalists from all over the world
between April 22 and April 28. (jun)
