Pusdikkes Provides Special Assistance for SPPI Participants Vulnerable to Illness

The Health Education Centre (Pusdikkes) of the Indonesian Army Health Centre (Puskesad) is providing special assistance to 12 participants of the Sarjana Penggerak Pembangunan Indonesia (SPPI) Education and Training programme who have a history of illness, as well as two participants who are pregnant. Commander of the Pusdikkes Education Unit, Lieutenant Colonel Ckm Said Jauhari, stated that the measure was taken to ensure all participants can undergo the training safely according to their respective health conditions. “We conducted health checks on all participants before the training. After identifying their health conditions and medical histories, we provided special assistance to participants deemed vulnerable to illness,” Said said during an interview at Puskesad, East Jakarta, Tuesday. He noted that the health assistance would be provided throughout the education period, which lasts approximately one and a half months. To date, his team has recorded 12 participants with pre-existing medical conditions and two pregnant participants. They are excluded from outdoor activities such as marching and sports, and receive special health monitoring during the education programme. Additionally, Pusdikkes has prepared hospital facilities to provide medical services should any participant experience health issues during the training. “The current field activities are more directed towards fostering discipline and cohesiveness among the participants,” he said. He expressed hope that the strengthened health supervision and medical assistance would ensure the entire education programme runs safely and smoothly until its completion.
