Purwokerto Elderly Woman Promised Rp 250 Million to Husband's Killers

Police have revealed that the murder of a man in Purwokerto, Banyumas Regency, Central Java, named Eddy Yono Subagyo (67), was masterminded by his wife, Ifaryanti, also known as Yati (61). Yati promised a reward of Rp 250 million to a group of executors.

“The motive was a combination of economic factors and a romantic relationship. The main suspect promised a fee of Rp 250 million to the other perpetrators to carry out the action,” said the Chief of Banyumas City Police, Kombes Petrus Silalahi, on Wednesday (1/7/2026).

Three perpetrators have been arrested: AR (50), JR (43), and RS (29). Petrus stated that AR was Yati’s secret lover.

“The relationship developed into a personal intimacy, which eventually led to the plan to eliminate the victim,” said Petrus.

The victim, who was a workshop owner, was murdered on Friday (26/6) at approximately 11:30 PM WIB. The perpetrator AR, who was Yati’s secret boyfriend, acted as the primary executor of the crime.

The murder was carried out by striking the victim with a wooden beam and subsequently strangling him with an electrical cable until he passed away.
