Purwakarta Regent Apologises, Deletes 'Lalaki Langit' Song After Backlash
Purwakarta Regent Saepul Bahri Binzein has finally deleted the video clip of his song titled ‘Lalaki Langit Lalanang Bejat’ after it drew condemnation from various quarters. He claimed he had no intention of demeaning any party in the song. ‘Om Zein did not mean to discredit or demean any other party,’ he said, as reported by detikJabar on Thursday (2/7/2026). He took the step as a form of moral responsibility and his commitment to maintaining conduciveness and harmony within Purwakarta society. He will immediately delete or take down the video of the song with the lyrics ‘Lalaki Langit, Lalanang Bejat’ from all his personal social media platforms. ‘Once again, Om Zein apologises, thank you for your attention. And Om Zein believes that the criticism is a form of affection and concern from the community, figures, or anyone towards Om Zein,’ he stated. He expressed hope that this could serve as a valuable lesson for all parties, particularly in choosing diction in the public sphere. Concluding his public clarification, he expressed his deep gratitude to everyone who had reminded him. ‘Thank you to those who reminded me.
