The Purwakarta District Prosecutor’s Office has responded to the lack of creative arts spaces for students to channel their talents by holding a ‘Prosecutor Goes to School’ (JMS) Festival. The prosecutor’s office presented creative arts for students whilst introducing the law from an early age. The festival, held for the first time in Purwakarta, featured various law-themed creative activities, ranging from a colossal Legal Awareness Theatre drama and Legal Awareness Creative Posters to Student Art Creativity, involving junior high, senior high, and special needs school (SLB) students. The festival took place at the Yudistira Building within the Purwakarta Regency Government Complex, involving dozens of students from various schools. A total of 53 participants took part in a poster competition themed around legal awareness, while 18 schools performed colossal dramas addressing various social and legal issues close to community life. Head of the Purwakarta District Prosecutor’s Office, Apsari Dewi, stated that the 2026 JMS Festival is a new innovation initiated by the Purwakarta Prosecutor’s Office to introduce the law to the younger generation in a more creative and enjoyable way. “This is the first time it has been held in Purwakarta. I do not know about other regions, but this is an innovation from the Purwakarta District Prosecutor’s Office,” Apsari said on Thursday (18/6). According to Apsari, the main objective of the festival is to build the character of students with integrity and legal awareness from an early age. “The aim is to introduce the law as early as possible, to shape the character of Purwakarta students who have integrity, are legally aware, and can eventually contribute to Purwakarta,” she revealed. Besides serving as a means of legal education, the festival is also expected to become a space for students to express their creativity. “This is a platform for students to showcase their work. Not only creativity, but also how they understand legal and cultural values,” she emphasised. Apsari added that the competition judging was conducted by a panel of jurors from art observer circles, the education sector, and elements of the Purwakarta District Prosecutor’s Office. The aspects assessed included legal awareness content, integrity, creativity, and the introduction of local culture presented in each performance.
