Purwakarta Police Arrest Five Suspects Specialising in Break-ins at Unoccupied Homes in Bogor
Five suspects, initials W (31) from Semarang, AA (39) from Brebes, JA (27) from Medan, RA (27) from Deli Serdang, and RL (33) from East Jakarta, were arrested by Satreskrim Polres Purwakarta at a villa in Bogor. They allegedly specialised in breaking into unoccupied houses in the Kavling Pemda housing estate, Sukamulya, Ciseureuh, Purwakarta, Purwakarta Regency, on Saturday 27 December 2025. Police also detained a receiver, RD (60) from Kuningan. Purwakarta Police Chief AKBP I Dewa Putu Gede Anom Danujaya said the criminals operated by driving a Lexus to scout for affluent homes where occupants were away. After confirming a house was unoccupied, they gained entry by prying open the door with tools, then stole valuables. Losses were around Rp900 million. Police recovered items including 11 watches of various brands, two rings with agate stones, and 11 pieces of gold and diamond jewellery such as rings and bracelets. During the arrest, the suspects resisted and police were forced to use firm and measured force; several were wounded by gunfire to the legs. They received medical treatment at RS Bayu Asih Purwakarta before further questioning at Satreskrim. The suspects face charges under Article 477 of Law No. 1 of 2023 on aggravated theft in the revised Criminal Code, with a maximum penalty of seven years in prison.
