Purwakarta Chief Prosecutor Speaks Out After Name Linked to Free Nutritious Meals Issue
The Head of the Purwakarta District Attorney’s Office, Apsari Dewi, has denied reports claiming her involvement in the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme project. Apsari confirmed that any document or data listing her as the owner of or party affiliated with an MBG kitchen is false information or a hoax. “That is not true. I do not own a kitchen and have no affiliation with any kitchen,” Apsari said when confirmed on Wednesday (10/6/2026). Apsari’s denial followed the circulation of a list on social media containing the names of numerous officials, public figures, and law enforcement officers. In the list, they were said to have links to the management of the MBG programme. Apsari Dewi’s name was included in the list in her capacity as the Purwakarta Chief Prosecutor. Her name has been dragged into the whirlpool of a legal case involving the former Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency, Sonny Sonjaya. However, to date there has been no official statement or legal fact proving Apsari’s involvement in the matter. Apsari therefore regretted the inclusion of her name in various baseless rumours circulating without clear data, as it has the potential to mislead public opinion. As a law enforcement officer, Apsari urged the public to be more discerning and not easily trust unverified information. She also stressed the importance of conducting fact checks or confirming directly with related parties before disseminating information circulating on social media. “Amid the rapid flow of information, the public is expected to respond more critically to various reports so as not to fall prey to information that may not necessarily be accountable,” said Apsari.
