Purwacarita Borobudur: A medium to explore history through technology
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Galeri Indonesia Kaya presents an immersive experience blending history, culture, and technology through “Purwacarita Borobudur: Exploring History through Space and Sense.”
More than just technology, the work presented utilises ethical artificial intelligence (AI) to produce content enhanced by science and historical facts. These facts have been academically validated by the Department of History, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada, and professionally validated by the Museum and Cultural Heritage office.
“Through Purwacarita Borobudur, we want to demonstrate that AI can be used ethically to strengthen research while presenting the cultural richness of the Archipelago in a way that is more accessible to the younger generation,” said the Founder and CEO of Curaweda, Azhar Muhammad Fuad, during a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Azhar ensured that the technology presented is balanced with a strict curation process to guarantee that the information provided is based on history and is accountable.
On the same occasion, a curator from the Department of History, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Sri Margana, stated that the narratives presented in the work have been validated based on relevant historical sources.
“For us, digital technology holds great potential to bring history closer to the public, provided that technology follows historical discipline, rather than history following the demands of technology,” she remarked.
In collaboration with Bening Digital Indonesia, Purwacarita Borobudur uses validated research and historical facts as the primary foundation for building its narrative.
