Purge New Order, corruption now!

I can no longer bear to witness the widespread corruption in
this country. It has been committed by both bureaucrats and
businesspeople who are ardent supporters of the New Order, former
president Soeharto's political vehicle for his 32 years in power.

I myself do not belong to the group and suffered mentally
during the New Order administration. Therefore, I call on
President Megawati to seriously eradicate corruption, collusion
and nepotism as well as uphold the rule of law as her Cabinet's
top priority. Ibu Mega should not be afraid of Soeharto's
underlings as the public will certainly give their support to
her.

However good the work of the Cabinet may be, if the mentality
of the country's senior officials is corrupt, nothing good will
come out of their efforts. People will not feel the result of Ibu
Mega's hard work as the impact of the New Order's morality still
predominates in bureaucratic and business circles, people who
always put their own interests first.

So, eradicate all remaining New Order influences at all layers
of society, including two thirds of the total number of
governors, regents and mayors who are, pure and simple, New Order
followers.

The least the public can expect is clean governance and the
supremacy of the law from the leadership of Megawati.
