Consumer purchasing power in society is beginning to show signs of recovery. This is reflected in the increasing interest in overseas travel, particularly to Australia.

Data from Tourism Australia indicates that more than half of Indonesian tourists are considering visiting Australia in the next four years.

This enthusiasm was evident at a travel exhibition held in Jakarta on 23–26 April 2026. Visitors crowded the venue to seek tickets and travel packages with various promotions.

Several offers were provided, including flight tickets to Australia starting from around Rp7 million, interest-free instalments, and discounts for certain transactions.

BCA’s Executive Vice President for Transaction Banking Business Development, Norisa, stated that the exhibition is part of efforts to make it easier for the public to plan trips. “We hope to provide an optimal transaction experience for customers, from the planning stage to returning from the Land of Kangaroos,” she said on Thursday (24/4/2026).

Meanwhile, Tourism Australia’s Regional General Manager for South and Southeast Asia, Jennifer Doig, noted that interest from Indonesian tourists continues to rise, in line with changing holiday trends. “We see this trend through the increasing sportcations, where more Indonesian tourists want to combine their love of sports with holiday experiences,” she revealed.

In addition to price factors, visitors also used the exhibition to consult with travel agents in compiling holiday plans, including family packages and Muslim-friendly tourism.

On the other hand, travel transactions are increasingly driven towards digital channels, along with the ease of payments and promotions offered during the exhibition.
