Jakarta — Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa delivered a stern message to the newly appointed officials of the Finance Ministry during an official reshuffle ceremony held on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

The reshuffle, affecting officials at grades II, III and IV, was described by Purbaya not merely as an administrative process but as a critical step to strengthen the nation’s fiscal resilience and support robust, stable economic growth.

“When development progresses, people’s prosperity increases,” Purbaya stated during the event held at the Dhanapala Hall of the Finance Ministry in Jakarta.

Purbaya emphasised that if Finance Ministry officials and staff fail to strengthen fiscal resilience and its management, the consequences will not be borne by the government alone but by society as a whole. “If we fail to maintain fiscal discipline, the loss will not only affect the ministry but also the people. If matters are mishandled, the integrity of the Indonesian state itself could be compromised,” he said firmly.

The Finance Minister expressed hope that the reshuffle would encourage employees to recognise that their responsibilities are not trivial but constitute a fundamental pillar of national integrity. “Because the Finance Ministry is the cornerstone of this nation. If you treat this carelessly, it doesn’t just affect your immediate environment but also the integrity of Indonesia itself,” Purbaya stated.

“I hope that going forward, you will fully appreciate your duties and understand the consequences if we are not careful,” he concluded.
