Purbaya to Depart for Hajj Pilgrimage this Thursday for 10-Day Trip
JAKARTA — Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has stated that he will depart for the Holy Land to perform the Hajj pilgrimage this Thursday (21 May 2026). “On Thursday (the 21st), if there are no unforeseen obstacles,” said Purbaya at the Palace Complex, Jakarta, on Monday (18 May 2026).
Purbaya noted that his pilgrimage would last for 10 days. He added that preparations for the pilgrimage have been underway for quite some time. Previously, it was reported that Purbaya has prepared special prayers to ensure that Indonesia’s economic growth continues to strengthen in the coming years. These prayers will be offered by Purbaya during his pilgrimage. The Minister mentioned that he is currently finalising his preparations, which include attending briefing sessions to ensure he can complete all the religious rites properly.
