Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa will inspect Tanjung Priok Port on Saturday (6/6/2026) following indications of violations that have caused disruptions to loading and unloading operations. Purbaya stated that he, alongside officials from the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC), will examine the suspected disruptions at the port, which have previously led to congestion.

According to records from the DJBC, 2,200 units of goods remain accumulated at Tanjung Priok Port, after 800 units were successfully processed.

“There is congestion at Tanjung Priok Port, isn’t there? How many units are piled up? Only 2,200 units left? While the economy is accelerating, there are still disruptions at the port. I intend to go there tomorrow, perhaps around 10:00 am,” said Purbaya at the Ministry of Finance on Friday (5/6/2026).

The Ministry is also considering the imposition of tax sanctions on goods that are not transported promptly. “If that is the case, we will apply taxes; if they do not transport the goods, we will penalise them through taxes,” he asserted.

In addition to taking action against parties intentionally delaying the transport of goods, Purbaya also intends to crack down on tax officials involved in irregularities that cause loading and unloading disruptions at the port. “We will arrange it and resolve it there. If the officials cannot fix it, we will relocate them immediately tomorrow; however, if they can rectify the situation, then so be it,” he added.
