JAKARTA - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has stated that the policy on the 13th month salary for civil servants is still under discussion. The government has not yet made a final decision regarding the disbursement of this year’s 13th month salary. The public is asked to wait for the results of further studies. “It is still being studied, wait for it later,” said Purbaya when met at the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday (7/4/2026). The regulation contains mechanisms for paying holiday allowances to civil servants, as well as members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces and the National Police. “The provisions regarding recipients, components, amount, and timing of the holiday allowance and 13th month salary for 2026 sourced from the state revenue and expenditure budget as referred to in paragraph (1) shall be implemented in accordance with the Government Regulation on the provision of holiday allowances and 13th month salary for 2026,” states Article 2 paragraph (2) of Ministry of Finance Regulation No. 13 of 2026. The general provisions for holiday allowances and 13th month salary are regulated in Government Regulation No. 9 of 2026. This regulation serves as the reference for the distribution of additional income to state apparatus, including pensioners. The regulation stipulates the disbursement timing. Holiday allowances are paid at the earliest 10 days before the holiday. The 13th month salary is generally disbursed in June. The components provided include basic salary and attached allowances in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Government Regulation No. 9 of 2026 also regulates the recipient groups. Recipients include state apparatus, pensioners, pension recipients, and other eligible allowance recipients. The regulatory framework is already in place. The decision on disbursing the 13th month salary still depends on fiscal conditions and government spending priorities. The government is still conducting studies before determining the final decision.
