Jakarta (ANTARA) - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa stated that Indonesia’s economic condition is currently still in the expansion phase and far from crisis, even as it faces global pressures.

According to him, the public’s purchasing power remains strong, as reflected in the high consumption activity during the Eid al-Fitr period.

“Who says crisis? Just during Eid last time, right? Everywhere was congested, everyone was shopping in all places. That means purchasing power is there, and if we look at the indicators available, our economy is indeed moving faster,” Purbaya said at the Ministry of Finance office in Jakarta on Friday.

He explained that several economic indicators show a maintained growth trend. This is reflected, among others, in consumer surveys, the Manufacturing PMI index, and an increase in vehicle sales.

In addition, Purbaya assured that the impact of rising world oil prices can be mitigated through appropriate State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) policies, so that external pressures do not directly burden the public.

Furthermore, the State Treasurer also stated that Indonesia’s economic prospects ahead still show an expansion trend in the coming years.

“So we are far from crisis, we are even continuously expanding. If it’s the crystal ball I’m talking about, our leading economic index is not wrong until 2029-2030 we will continue to expand,” he said.
