Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has stated that the revision to the Devisa Hasil Ekspor Sumber Daya Alam (DHE SDA) regulation will be issued shortly. At present, the policy is at the Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensetneg). “DHE SDA is already at the Mensesneg office. It will be issued (published) shortly, not long now perhaps,” he said during a media briefing in Jakarta on Friday. The revision includes several exemption schemes. However, Purbaya did not detail the exemptions in question or their number. He also advised waiting for the regulation to be published first. “The sectors remain the same initially. Still natural resources (sumber daya alam),” the Finance Minister explained. The government is revising Government Regulation (PP) Number 8 of 2025 on DHE SDA. To date, the revised policy has not yet been implemented. The revision is part of efforts to strengthen domestic foreign currency liquidity. The government aims to increase foreign exchange reserves while maintaining rupiah exchange rate stability amid global dynamics. In the Ministry of Finance’s Domestic Foreign Exchange Liquidity Strengthening Policy Strategy document, it is stated that the new regulation will require exporters to place DHE in foreign currency form in domestic banks, particularly those in the State-Owned Banks Association (Himbara). Additionally, the latest provisions also regulate a reduction in the DHE conversion limit from the previous 100 percent to a maximum of 50 percent to rupiah, to provide flexibility for businesses while still maintaining foreign currency supply domestically.
