Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has confirmed that the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK) has discussed measures to anticipate the market impact of the Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor’s resignation.

Purbaya revealed that the KSSK agreed on the importance of providing certainty that the policy direction supports economic growth and financial stability.

“It has been discussed. The important thing is that we show the market that our policies remain solid, pro-growth, pro-stability, and market-friendly,” Purbaya said after a KSSK meeting at the LPS office in Jakarta, quoted on Wednesday (29/7/2026).

As is known, Perry Warjiyo resigned as Governor of BI for personal reasons. Perry’s resignation was announced by Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi on Monday (27/7/2026).

Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia Destry Damayanti has been appointed as the Acting Governor of BI. Purbaya assessed that the acting BI Governor is not a new figure incapable of helming the central bank.

According to him, the Senior Deputy Governor is highly experienced in managing monetary policy.

“She (Destry) is a veteran. She has been involved with the KSSK process for quite a long time. In fact, she previously played a dual role at the LPS and BI. So her knowledge is excellent and more than capable of ensuring that monetary policy runs as it should,” Purbaya explained.
