Purbaya Says Formation of DSI Could Boost State Revenue
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa believes the establishment of PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI) as a Special Export State-Owned Enterprise has the potential to increase state revenue. He argues that the policy governing the export of natural resources (SDA) will benefit the country by reducing under-invoicing practices that have previously caused revenue leakage. ‘I am the Finance Minister, so I want to obtain profit sharing or input costs from export tax that align with what is done,’ Purbaya said at a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday. He explained that the formation of DSI stemmed from government findings related to alleged under-invoicing and transfer pricing in the export of SDA commodities. As a follow-up, Purbaya said he visited the National Single Window (NSW) under the Ministry of Finance to trace trade data. However, he said he had not yet received a satisfactory answer regarding the alleged manipulation of export prices. Therefore, the Ministry of Finance formed a special team that uses artificial intelligence (AI) technology to conduct investigations. The State Treasurer then asked the team to trace the shipments of crude palm oil (CPO) exports from 10 companies at random. For each company, three shipments were selected to compare export price data.
