Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has revealed that the Task Force for Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (Satgas BLBI) was dissolved in December 2024. Although the BLBI Task Force is no longer operational, Purbaya assured that the matter of BLBI debts will be tidied up.

He emphasised this following a report from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) regarding the incomplete collection of BLBI debts amounting to Rp 211 trillion in 2025.

“So it’s gone now, I want to sort this out. Soon Mr Rio (Task Force Chairman Rionald Silaban) is retiring soon, so if we discuss it later, we’ll replace it, but I don’t want just noise without any money,” he stated during a media briefing on Friday (24/4/2026).

Previously, the BPK found that many debts from former Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) debtors had not yet been returned to the state.

In the Semester II-2025 Audit Summary (IHPS), the BPK recorded that there were 25,306 debtors who had not yet repaid their debts amounting to Rp 211.02 trillion as of 30 June 2025 to the state.

“The efforts to collect state receivables from former Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) by the State Receivables Committee (PUPN) have not been effective,” quoted from the BPK’s IHPS II-2025 document on Friday (24/4/2026).

The BPK considers that the state receivables that remain unpaid are due to suboptimal inter-departmental coordination of the PUPN between the Ministry of Finance, the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and the Attorney General’s Office in collecting former BLBI state receivables.

This assessment is based on ongoing issues in tracing addresses and company statuses for summoning obligors and debtors, blocking and seizing collateral, preventing exits from Indonesian territory, and civil actions and/or public services to the debtors.

In addition, efforts to settle receivables through debt relief risk legal problems. As a result, the process of settling former BLBI state receivables is not optimal.

The BPK recommends that the Finance Minister instruct the Director General of State Assets to more optimally carry out coordination with relevant agencies in managing and/or settling former BLBI state receivables.

From CNBC records, the BLBI Task Force’s term was extended until 31 December 2024 based on Presidential Decree No. 30 of 2023. The task force was targeted to complete the collection of BLBI obligor/debtor debts with total assets reaching Rp 110.45 trillion. By the end of 2024, it was reported to have successfully collected assets worth Rp 39.32 trillion, equivalent to 35% of the total target.
