Purbaya Reviews Central Java's Regional Budget Performance

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa revealed that the performance of Central Java’s Regional Budget (APBD) remained well-maintained amidst global economic uncertainty. During a visit to the State Treasury Service Office (KPPN) Semarang I, he explained that regional revenue realisation for the first semester of 2026 reached 56.56% of the target, growing 13.33% year-on-year. Meanwhile, state expenditure realisation hit 52.06% of the target. “This shows that the APBN’s role remains optimal in supporting development and public services,” Purbaya stated. He noted that Central Java’s economic growth was recorded at 5.89%, reflecting the region’s economic resilience supported by industrial activity, trade, and various government programmes that boost public productivity. The improving economic conditions are also supported by an increasingly healthy state budget posture, in line with the growing industrial sector in Central Java. The Ministry of Finance in Central Java continues to encourage various efforts to improve community welfare, with economic indicators that still need strengthening. Furthermore, the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Treasury in Central Java is promoting digitalisation innovations for regional revenue collection. One initiative involves joint research with local experts to optimise regional income through digitalisation, with Blora Regency serving as a pilot project through the implementation of an e-Parking system at Sidomakmur Market. Purbaya emphasised that the success of the President’s priority programmes requires strong synergy between the central government, regional governments, business actors, and the community. He stressed that the state budget must continue to be maintained as a healthy, responsive, and accountable fiscal instrument to support the achievement of national development priorities, with a particular focus on optimising regional budget expenditure performance to maximise its impact on economic growth and public welfare.
