Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has revealed that the government’s priority Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme has reached a significant number of beneficiaries in Central Java. Purbaya explained that by mid-2026, the MBG programme had reached 9.16 million beneficiaries in the province. Furthermore, the 4,635 Nutritional Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) in Central Java have engaged approximately 18,854 local suppliers and created more than 193,000 job opportunities. “This programme also contributes to improving the quality of human resources while strengthening the community’s social resilience,” Purbaya stated during his visit to Central Java. Purbaya added that the Directorate General of Treasury (DJPb) is currently conducting monitoring through assistance provided by the DJPb Regional Office and the State Treasury Service Offices (KPPN) in Central Java, including at several SPPG locations. This assistance is expected to ensure the MBG Programme is implemented in accordance with regulations, is accountable, and is well-targeted, while also identifying various obstacles in the field early on to find solutions together with stakeholders. “The DJPb must monitor all government priority programmes, including conducting national and structured monitoring of the MBG programme,” Purbaya concluded.
