Purbaya Reveals Idea of Channelling Danantara Profits into State Budget
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has revealed that profits earned by BPI Danantara will eventually be channelled back into the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN). He made the statement while meeting journalists at the Ministry of Finance office in Jakarta (11/8/2026).
“We will see later, it is just an idea, so Danantara’s contribution to me, that is what I know,” said Purbaya.
Purbaya’s statement relates to the provisions of Government Regulation (PP) Number 19 of 2026 concerning Amendments to PP Number 10 of 2025 regarding the Organisation and Governance of Danantara, which was signed by President Prabowo Subianto on 8 April 2026.
Under this regulation, the investment holding company established to support national development and public services may receive state capital participation (PMN). Government support can come from various sources, ranging from cash funds, state property, state receivables from state-owned enterprises (BUMN) and limited liability companies, to other state assets.
So far, President Prabowo Subianto has stated that he received reports indicating that the revenue of the Investment Management Agency (BPI) Danantara has surged by up to 400%.
This achievement was attained within just one year of Danantara’s launch in 2025. The President has requested that the revenue figures be verified through a comprehensive audit.
“In one year of Danantara’s operation, I received reports that Danantara’s revenue or income has risen by 400%, more or less. This must continue to be audited, we must continue to check. But even if it is not 400%, if it is 300% or 200%, this is still a very significant increase in one year of work,” said Prabowo during his address.
Currently, Danantara holds total state-owned enterprise assets of approximately US$1,000 billion, equivalent to Rp17,800 trillion. Danantara is targeted to generate a minimum profit of Rp800 trillion (US$50 billion) per year for the state coffers.
