Purbaya Responds to Lippo's 30-Hectare Land Grant in Meikarta
Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has expressed appreciation for Lippo Group’s handover of 30 hectares of land in Meikarta to the government to support the 3 million homes programme. The statement was made during a speech at the signing of the Land Grant Commitment at Wisma Danantara, Jakarta, on Monday, 29 June 2026. He also affirmed the Ministry of Finance’s commitment to accelerating the completion of various administrative stages and cross-ministerial and institutional coordination. This acceleration is needed so that the granted land can be utilised immediately. “Whenever there is a project that benefits the community and the state, we will certainly accelerate it,” said Purbaya, as quoted from a Ministry of Finance press release on Tuesday, 30 June 2026. According to Purbaya, the land grant represents a form of synergy between the government and the private sector in supporting one of President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita priority agendas. The construction and renovation of 3 million homes is a strategic government effort to expand public access to decent housing while improving community welfare. He explained that the granted asset is planned to become state capital injection for the Danantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara). It will subsequently be managed through sound business processes so that its utilisation can support the 3 million homes programme without burdening the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN). The entire grant process will be carried out in accordance with statutory provisions while prioritising governance and transparency. The Ministry of Finance will cooperate with the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas, the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency, as well as Danantara, supported by oversight from the Finance and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) and the Attorney General’s Office, to ensure the entire process proceeds professionally. Purbaya also expressed hope that the collaboration through this land grant commitment would serve as an example of synergy between the government, the business world, and various stakeholders in addressing national development challenges and supporting the provision of decent housing for the community.
