Purbaya Outlines Plan for Additional Regional Transfer Budget
Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has spoken out regarding the Ministry of Finance’s plan to increase the budget for regional transfers (TKD).
Purbaya stated that for regions where personnel spending does not exceed 30%, the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) will arrange for central funds, in this case from the Ministry of Finance, to be allocated to those areas.
“For regions where employee spending is at 30%, and where spending is still insufficient, the Ministry of Home Affairs will regulate so that there is additional spending from the central government to the regions,” said Purbaya when met by journalists following the inauguration of three new directors-general on Wednesday (1/7/2026).
However, Purbaya continued by stating that his office cannot yet provide specific figures as the 2026 State Budget (APBN) has not yet been finalised.
“The State Budget is not yet complete. We will likely discuss this with the Ministry of Home Affairs first,” Purbaya explained.
Previously, the Director General of Fiscal Balance (DJPK) at the Ministry of Finance, Askolani, stated that his department promises to provide additional TKD budget through the 2026 State Budget.
“God willing, in 2026, we will evaluate and provide more support for civil servants (ASN) in the regions,” said Askolani during a meeting with the House of Representatives (DPR) Budget Committee on Wednesday (24/6/2026).
According to him, the additional TKD is intended to maximise the fulfillment of personnel spending, specifically for Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK) in the regions.
“In 2026, we will be able to push more to fill the gaps in the potential fulfillment of PPPK spending in several local governments that we have been monitoring,” Askolani added.
