Jakarta (ANTARA) - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa stated that he has presented Indonesia’s economic and fiscal fundamentals to the international rating agency S&P Global Ratings during a meeting held on Wednesday (3/6).

“Essentially, we explained our position as thoroughly as possible, so that they understand the nature of our economic foundation,” Purbaya told reporters at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, on Thursday.

One of the key points conveyed by the government was the commitment to keeping the State Budget (APBN) deficit below 3 per cent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The Finance Minister also outlined the measures being taken to maintain this deficit level for the current and upcoming year.

Purbaya noted that tax revenues have shown significant growth. In May 2026, tax revenue grew by 22.1 per cent compared to the same period last year. He assessed that this development serves as a positive signal for Indonesia’s fiscal condition amidst global economic challenges.

“So, that is one encouraging aspect. That is what I communicated to them,” he added.
