Purbaya Opens 380 Vacancies for High School Graduates in Customs This Month
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has emphasised that the recruitment of 380 high school graduates to strengthen technical performance within the Ministry of Finance, particularly the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC), will be carried out as soon as possible. The status will not be as civil servants (PNS), but as Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK). “I’ll check on that again. The issue has been around for a long time. The plan is there, but I just asked why it hasn’t been executed yet—it’s not taking too long to execute,” Purbaya said when met at the Ministry of Finance office on Thursday (9/4/2026). According to him, these employees will primarily work in the field, such as in collection roles and others. Meanwhile, degree-holding (S1) employees will be allocated to structural positions. “So we want to form a field force; the design is for high school graduates,” he stated. Purbaya hopes the recruitment can begin at the end of this month. “Let’s speed it up; we’ll see if it can be done by the end of this month,” he added. The opening of recruitment for high school graduate Customs and Excise personnel has been mentioned previously. He said this step is taken to meet the urgent need for operational manpower in the field. He assessed that technical positions require human resources ready to work directly in the field.
