Purbaya Opens 380 Customs Job Vacancies for High School Graduates
The government will open 380 job vacancies within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) of the Ministry of Finance next month for high school graduates or equivalent. This was stated by Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa when met at the Ministry of Finance office today, Tuesday, 7 April 2026.
Purbaya explained that the recruitment is intended to fill field technical positions to strengthen the performance of Customs and Excise. This step is taken to address the urgent need for operational personnel.
“It’s been several months and it hasn’t happened yet. I said, just execute it because I also need people who are truly at the technical field level. Perhaps it will open next month,” said Purbaya when met at the Ministry of Finance office, Jakarta, Tuesday, 7 April 2026, as quoted from Antara.
He assessed that the previous recruitment process had taken quite a long time. Therefore, Purbaya is now pushing for the recruitment implementation to be accelerated to meet the need for field workers.
Regarding the opening of vacancies for prospective Civil Servants (CPNS) this year, Purbaya stated that the policy is under the authority of the Ministry of State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB). “CPNS is under (the authority of) the Minister of PANRB. The budget should be there,” he said.
Minister of State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Rini Widyantini previously indicated that the government would open around 160,000 CPNS formations in 2026. “Hopefully, hopefully,” said Rini at the PANRB Ministry Building, Jakarta on Tuesday, 24 February 2026.
Further, Rini indicated the opening of 2026 CPNS formations after stating that around 160,000 civil servants had retired in 2025. “We already have the data, around 160,000, that’s it,” she said.
Rini stated that the Ministry of PANRB has submitted the budget needs to Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa to support the implementation of the 2026 CPNS tests.
