TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has stated that several global investors are eager to enter the Indonesian market after hearing his briefing on the nation’s domestic economic and fiscal health. Purbaya held high-level discussions with these prominent financiers on Monday, April 13, 2026, during his working visit to the United States.

Among the international investment management giants Purbaya met were BlackRock, HSBC Global Asset Management, Lazard AM, Lord Abbett, and TD Asset Management. During the sessions, Purbaya detailed Indonesia’s current economic climate, its fiscal strategy, and the long-term outlook for the archipelago.

Reflecting on the meetings, Purbaya shared the positive outcomes of the dialogue. “It seems they are convinced that our fiscal movements and policies are heading in the right direction. It appears they are genuinely interested in investing in Indonesia,” he remarked.

The former Chairperson of the LPS Board of Commissioners noted that investors raised several questions to clear up lingering doubts regarding Indonesia’s current stability. He recounted that some were initially skeptical, having heard reports of problematic fiscal management within the government. “So, they wanted to verify that those reports were not true and understand what our fundamental policies actually look like,” he explained.

The recent decline in Indonesia’s debt prospects was a primary topic of discussion. However, Purbaya claimed that the global investors accepted the explanations he provided through the economic theories presented. The Finance Minister also welcomed input on how to improve communication with global investors.

To bolster this confidence, the government has prepared strategies to ensure economic growth aligns with state budget targets. “If Indonesia can grow by 5.5 percent in the first quarter and remain strong through the second, it will give them the confidence to expand their investments here,” he said.
