Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa is scheduled to depart for China today, Tuesday (16/6/2026), to offer renminbi-denominated government bonds, known as Panda Bonds, to investors in the country. Director General of Financing and Risk Management Suminto stated that at least 15 institutional investors are scheduled to meet with Purbaya to invest in Indonesia’s portfolio assets. “We are meeting more than 15 investors as scheduled,” Suminto said when met by reporters at the Parliament Building in Jakarta, quoted on Tuesday (16/6/2026). Suminto said these 15 institutional investors are major fund managers in China, including Agricultural Bank of China, Zhong Ou Asset Management, and ICBC Wealth Management. “These are all large institutional investors. These are institutions in China,” Suminto emphasised. Suminto confirmed that after the meetings, which will last until the end of the week, the government will begin preparing the Panda Bond issuance. He is targeting the renminbi-denominated bond issuance for release at the earliest by the end of June. “End of June or early July, around that time. We will also see the market response first,” he said.
