Purbaya: KSSK on Guard Against Global Uncertainties and Their Impact on the Domestic Economy

The Chair of the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK) and Finance Minister, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, has stressed that the KSSK will continue to monitor the impact of the war in the Middle East region, which is affecting the global economy, including the domestic economy.

Purbaya conveyed this as the outcome of the KSSK’s regular meeting, which comprises himself as KSSK Chair; Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo; OJK Commissioner Chair Friderica Widyasari Dewi; and Deposit Insurance Corporation Chair Anggito Abimanyu.

“The KSSK will continue to monitor and conduct forward-looking assessments of the economy and financial sector, in line with global uncertainties,” said Purbaya during the Press Conference on the Results of the KSSK’s Second Regular Meeting of 2026 at the Bank Indonesia Office Complex, Jakarta, on Thursday, 7 May 2026.

“At the same time, as a coordinated mitigation effort,” he added.

Purbaya explained that the conflict situation in the Middle East is also influencing turbulence and volatility in the global financial markets, primarily regarding the surge in global energy prices.

Therefore, he assured that the KSSK will continue to seriously monitor those dynamics, including their effects on the domestic economy.

“The global situation remains full of uncertainties, and we will continue to be vigilant about its developments for the domestic economy,” said Purbaya.

He assured that the KSSK will undertake coordinated mitigation efforts, both among KSSK member institutions and with other relevant Ministries/Institutions.

“If we look at it, growth in Q1-2026 was quite good, at 5.61 percent. But we will see what it will be like in Q2 this year,” said Purbaya.

“Therefore, we will be on guard against all possible obstacles that may arise, and we will also look at all existing macro aspects,” he added.
