Purbaya Issues Regulation on LPG Import Duty, Free Starting 28 July
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has officially released a regulation that serves as the basis for exempting import duties on LPG.
The provision was established in Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 50 of 2026 and will take effect seven days after its promulgation on 21 July 2026, specifically on 28 July 2026.
Purbaya stipulated that this exemption on LPG import duties is not unlimited, but rather applies only for six months from the enactment of PMK 50/2026.
“An import duty rate of 0% (zero per cent) is granted for 6 (six) months from the effective date of this Ministerial Regulation,” as quoted from Article II of PMK 50/2026, Wednesday (22/7/2026).
The PMK states that the LPG imports receiving this import duty exemption are those classified under tariff headings 9845.10.00 and 9845.20.00.
LPG imports falling under tariff heading 9845.10.00 are liquefied propane, which is included under tariff heading 2711.12.00.
Meanwhile, LPG imports under tariff heading 9845.20.00 are liquefied butane, which is included under tariff heading 2711.13.00.
