Purbaya: Indonesia's International Financial Centre Regulated under P2SK Bill
The Government and Commission XI of the House of Representatives (DPR) have agreed on the results of the working committee discussions regarding the Bill to Amend the Financial Sector Development and Strengthening Law (UU P2SK) Number 4 of 2023. The P2SK Bill is scheduled to be ratified during the Plenary Session on Thursday, 3 June 2026.
Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa stated that the P2SK Law will accommodate regulations concerning Indonesia’s International Financial Centre. This project, known as the Indonesia Financial Centre, was initiated by the Chairman of the National Economic Council (DEN), Luhut Binsary Pandjaitan.
“The Indonesia International Financial Centre is a region designated by the government as an international financial hub that possesses financial, administrative, and operational independence based on the provisions of this law,” Purbaya said during a working meeting with the DPR RI on Wednesday (3/6/2026).
Purbaya emphasised that the International Financial Centre is a national vision aimed at achieving sustainable economic growth, as well as the development and diversification of the national economy through effective contributions to the financial sector and its supervision.
The financial centre is planned to be located in Bali, established in the form of a Special Economic Zone (KEK). This financial hub is expected to offer several global-standard incentives to attract foreign capital inflows into Indonesia, including the option of tax incentives as low as 0% for investors entering and deploying capital within this financial centre.
