Purbaya Has Prepared the 2026 CPNS Budget, Decision Lies with the Minister of PANRB

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has revealed that the budget for recruiting civil service candidates (CASN) in 2026, including CPNS formations, is actually already available. However, he stated that the execution of its implementation is entirely in the hands of the Minister of State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB), Rini Widyantini. “It’s with the Minister of PANRB,” Purbaya emphasised at his office in Jakarta on Tuesday (7/4/2026). He mentioned that the Ministry of Finance itself also needs new CASN to fill vacancies for field officers at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, numbering 380 high school graduates. “We’ve been saying for a long time to open 380 positions at Customs and Excise for high school graduates,” Purbaya stated. However, Purbaya is also puzzled because this need has not yet been realised until now. He hopes that next month the need for new employee recruitment can be fulfilled. “Because I also need technical-level personnel in the field. Perhaps next month they open the 300 high school graduate positions. So next month,” Purbaya said.
