Purbaya: Free Nutritious Meal Budget Realisation Reaches Rp 101.1 Trillion by End of Q2 2026
Jakarta, VIVA – Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa reported that the budget realisation for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme reached Rp 101.1 trillion for 63.13 million beneficiaries by the end of the second quarter of 2026.
At a press conference on the results of the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK) periodic meeting in Jakarta on Monday, 3 August 2026, Purbaya also reported that the budget realisation for the People’s Schools programme reached Rp 13.1 trillion across 104 permanent schools.
“This budget realisation reflects the role of the state budget, which is directed as an agent of development to accelerate the implementation of priority programmes,” said Purbaya on Monday, 3 August 2026.
In addition to serving as an agent of development, Purbaya assured that the state budget also continues to be optimised to act as a shock absorber and to protect the poor.
As a shock absorber, the government is safeguarding the public’s purchasing power as well as the stability of fuel and food prices and supply, through subsidies and compensation with realisations of Rp 116.0 trillion and Rp 116.9 trillion respectively.
Purbaya added that the social protection function for poor and vulnerable communities also continues through various programmes such as the Family Hope Programme (PKH), the Staple Food Card, and the Smart Indonesia Programme (PIP), with realisations of Rp 14.5 trillion, Rp 19.7 trillion, and Rp 8.8 trillion respectively.
“To maintain growth momentum, the government has also provided various stimulus packages supporting business continuity and economic activity, including tax incentives for national writers, transport discounts during the Eid al-Fitr and school holiday periods, as well as internship and vocational programmes,” said Purbaya.
Overall, state spending realisation reached Rp 1,656.0 trillion by the end of Q2 2026, growing 17.8 per cent year-on-year. Central government spending realisation reached Rp 1,298.6 trillion, or 29.4 per cent growth year-on-year.
Spending realisation was influenced by, among other things, the implementation of the MBG programme, the distribution of social assistance, infrastructure development, payment of holiday allowances and 13th-month salaries, pension benefit payments, as well as fuel and electricity subsidy and compensation payments.
Meanwhile, state revenue realisation reached Rp 1,459.4 trillion by the end of Q2 2026, posting strong growth of 21.4 per cent year-on-year.
Tax revenue realisation reached Rp 1,035.7 trillion, or high growth of 24.6 per cent year-on-year, driven by improving economic conditions, the positive impact of the Coretax implementation, as well as intensification and extensification efforts.
