Purbaya Disburses Civil Servant Salaries Worth Rp126.9 Trillion, Up 24.2%

Realisations of government employee expenditure from January to 30 April 2026 rose compared with the same period last year. According to APBN Kita data for April 2026, the amount of government employee expenditure realised in the first four months of this year was Rp126.9 trillion. That figure rose by 24.4% from Rp102 trillion in the same period last year. The surge in government employee expenditure largely reflects the appointment of 355,000 new ASN. ‘Realisation of K/L spending grew faster. Employee expenditure up 24.4%,’ Purbaya said at the APBN press conference at his office in Jakarta, cited Wednesday (20/5/2026). Next, the disbursement of Eid al-Fitr allowances (THR) for Civil Servants (ASN), TNI, Polri, retirees, and pensioners. Then there was an acceleration of payments for Non-Civil Servant Educators. The rise in employee expenditure also pushed up the realisation of expenditure by ministries and agencies. Overall, realisation of K/L expenditure reached Rp400.5 trillion for January to 30 April 2026, up 26.5% from the same period last year. In addition to employee expenditure, other outlays also rose. Realisation of capital expenditure increased by 43.6% to Rp52.6 trillion and social assistance expenditure rose by 30.2% to Rp56.7 trillion.
