Jakarta (ANTARA) - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has denied rumours concerning his resignation from the position of Indonesian Finance Minister.

“It is not true,” Purbaya stated when confirmed by ANTARA in Jakarta on Thursday.

These rumours began circulating after Purbaya attended a Plenary Session regarding the revision of the Law on the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (P2SK) at the House of Representatives (DPR RI). During the same session, Purbaya also participated in the presentation of views from each parliamentary faction regarding the Macroeconomic Framework and Fiscal Policy Main Points (KEM-PPKF).

According to the Minister, the state budget deficit stands at 0.7 per cent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), with tax revenue growth reaching 22 per cent year-on-year.

“The fiscal situation is good. There will be an APBN KiTa briefing tomorrow; you may ask further questions there. I will explain it. If not, I will repeat it. Fundamentally, (the fiscal position) is secure,” said Purbaya.

Purbaya also confirmed that he held a meeting with the international rating agency S&P Global Ratings the previous day, on Wednesday (3/6).
