Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa is considering extending the reporting period for the Annual Tax Return (SPT) for corporate taxpayers.

This comes after he provided relief to individual taxpayers, exempting them from penalties for up to a month after the reporting period ends.

From a technical standpoint, Purbaya revealed that the Coretax system, which had drawn complaints from taxpayers, has improved. This is evident from the decreasing number of complaints about the new tax system on social media.

“If I monitor Coretax on TikTok, the complaints have reduced significantly. That means there are still some people affected, yes. Yesterday I called the Director General of Taxation, and he said it has improved,” Purbaya stated during a media briefing at his office on Friday (24/4/2026).

Purbaya explained that previously, there were recurring issues in Coretax that caused users difficulties in accessing services.

However, those problems have been fixed. One measure included disabling access to certain service providers suspected of being the source of disruptions.

“So there was some looping. I think going forward it should be better. We’ll see if there are still many requests for extensions; now it’s almost over,” he said.

Purbaya plans to conduct a thorough evaluation on Monday (27/4/2026) to decide on the proposal for extending the reporting deadline.

If the reporting period is extended, Purbaya emphasised that it would not be for a long duration.

“We’ll see, we’ll evaluate perhaps next Monday. Depending on the situation. If we extend, we’ll extend it a little, not too long, or they’ll get lazy (to report) again,” he said.

As known, the Ministry of Finance has extended the deadline for filing annual tax returns for individual taxpayers.

The deadline for individual taxpayers (WP OP) has been extended to the end of April 2026, from the original 31 March 2026. Meanwhile, corporate tax return filings should be completed by 30 April 2026 at the latest.
