Purbaya Confirms Meikarta Land Grant of 30 Ha Will Not Burden State Budget
Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has confirmed that approximately 30 hectares of land in the Meikarta area, granted by the Lippo Group to the state, will be handed over to the Danantara Investment Management Agency as state equity participation. He assured that the transfer of the Meikarta land to Danantara follows a sound business process without burdening the state budget. The land will be managed to support the 3 Million Houses Programme. “With this scheme, the asset’s benefits are expected to be optimised sustainably to support the success of the 3 Million Houses Programme. This programme exists to expand public access to decent housing while strengthening public welfare,” he said during the signing of the grant commitment at Wisma Danantara, in a written statement on Monday (29/6/2026). Purbaya further emphasised the government’s commitment to accelerating the completion of various stages required so that the utilisation of the granted land can be followed up immediately. The Ministry of Finance will coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to ensure the process runs quickly and accurately. “Any project that benefits the community and the country will certainly be accelerated by us,” Purbaya stressed. Chief Executive Officer of the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara), Rosan Roeslani, stated that 141,000 vertical housing units will be built. “In my opinion, this is not just about providing land, but rather providing something significant from the land because the impact will be very, very large, very significant for low-income Indonesians,” he said at the Wisma Danantara building in Jakarta on Monday (29/6/2026). Rosan, who also serves as Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, said the programme could have a broad impact on the community by providing decent housing for families. “141,000 units. That is extraordinary if we multiply it by children, multiply it by wives, at least three or four times, this could be 500,000 or 600,000, so this impact will be very, very, very, very significant,” he stated. Danantara will coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to ensure completion on time according to plan. “So that this development will provide extraordinary benefits not only to us in this room, not only to the Indonesian people, but especially to low-income Indonesians,” he said.
