Jakarta (ANTARA) — Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has confirmed that compensation payments to PT Pertamina (Persero) and PT PLN (Persero) for the beginning of the year will be disbursed shortly.

The payments are being made in line with a revised compensation scheme that now operates on a monthly basis. Previously, compensation for government-mandated fuel prices and electricity tariffs was paid every three or six months. Under the new scheme, the government pays 70 per cent of the compensation value each month, with the remainder adjusted following a final calculation.

“That (compensation) is 70 per cent. I forget exactly how much — Rp27 trillion? January and February,” Purbaya said after a press conference for the February 2026 edition of APBN KiTa (Our State Budget) in Jakarta on Monday.

The change in mechanism is governed by Minister of Finance Regulation No. 73 of 2025 concerning Procedures for the Provision, Calculation, Payment and Accountability of Compensation Funds for Revenue Shortfalls of Business Entities Resulting from Policies on Retail Fuel Prices and Electricity Tariffs.

The Finance Minister confirmed that the compensation funds for January are currently being processed for disbursement and that the budget has been made available.

“January is being processed. It will be very soon. But we will pay shortly. The budget is already available. January’s allocation is already available now,” he said.

The Ministry of Finance plans to disburse compensation payments in monthly instalments from January to July 2026 at 70 per cent of the invoiced amount. Any outstanding shortfall will be reconciled and settled in August following verification of actual realisation data.
