The Minister of Finance, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, expressed optimism that Indonesia’s economic growth could penetrate 6% by 2027. This serves as a target within the 2027 Draft State Budget (RAPBN).

Purbaya stated that the government is committed to ensuring the State Budget (APBN) remains healthy and sustainable, as outlined in the 2027 RAPBN. In this draft, the government has set state revenue at Rp 3,426.03 trillion, representing a growth of approximately 6.79% from the previous year’s budget.

State expenditure is budgeted at Rp 4,097.19 trillion, with a deficit of 2.40% against Gross Domestic Product (GDP). According to him, this budget structure reflects a commitment to supporting the acceleration of development.

“With the right economic strategy and prudent and sustainable fiscal policies, the government is optimistic that Indonesia’s economy in 2027 will be able to grow by 6%, with inflation maintained at a level of 2.5%,” Purbaya stated during a working meeting with Commission XI of the House of Representatives (DPR) at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (9/1/2026).

However, to achieve 6% growth, Purbaya acknowledged the need for investment acceleration. At a minimum, investment must grow by approximately 7% to drive this economic growth target.

Achieving these economic growth and investment targets will also require collaboration between the Ministry of Finance and several other state institutions, such as the Investment Management Agency (BPI) Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara), as well as the private sector. Additionally, the government will promote macroeconomic stability to maintain investor confidence.

“This target will be achieved through collaboration between the government, the private sector, and Danantara. Government investment will act as a catalyst for private investment, which serves as the primary driver of investment. Meanwhile, Danantara will contribute to investment, particularly in strategic sectors and downstreaming,” he explained.

With maintained economic stability, Purbaya noted that interest rates on Government Securities (SBN) are also expected to remain stable at 6.9%. This reflects global investor confidence in Indonesia’s investment ecosystem.

This condition will automatically encourage the stability of the Rupiah. In the 2027 RAPBN, Purbaya clarified that the government has set an exchange rate range at Rp 17,500/US$.

As for the Indonesian Crude Price (ICP), it is estimated to be at the level of US$ 75 per barrel. This is due to high global economic pressures, particularly in the Middle East region.

“I must convey that the assumptions for ICP and oil and gas lifting have been discussed with Commission XII of the DPR RI and relevant Ministries and Agencies. The result is that the ICP remains at US$ 75 per barrel, and oil lifting will be 612.5 thousand barrels per day, while gas lifting remains at 954 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day,” he concluded.
