Purbaya Assures KSSK Remains Solid in Guarding Markets After Perry Warjiyo's Resignation
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has affirmed that the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK) has discussed anticipating the impact on the financial markets of the resignation of the Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI).
Purbaya revealed that KSSK agreed on the importance of providing certainty that the direction of policy taken supports economic growth and financial stability.
“Yes, we have. The important thing is this: we show the market that our policy remains solid, pro-growth and pro-stability, and market friendly,” said Purbaya after a meeting with KSSK at the LPS office in Jakarta, quoted on Wednesday (29/7/2026).
As is known, Perry Warjiyo resigned as Governor of BI for personal reasons. Perry’s resignation was announced by Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi on Monday (27/7/2026).
Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia Destry Damayanti was appointed as Acting Governor of BI. Purbaya also assessed that the acting Governor of BI, Destry Damayanti, is not a newcomer when it comes to helming the central bank.
He said the Senior Deputy Governor of BI is already highly experienced in managing monetary policy.
“She (Destry) is an old hand. She has been involved in the KSSK process for quite a long time. She even used to play doubles at both LPS and BI. So her knowledge is excellent and highly capable of ensuring that monetary policy runs as it should,” Purbaya explained.
