Purbaya Appoints Yon Arsal as Acting CEO of LPDP
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has appointed Yon Arsal, Staff Advisor for Tax Compliance, as the acting CEO of the Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP). Yon Arsal replaces Sudarto, who has now been appointed as acting Director General of the Budget at the Ministry of Finance.
“Now, the baton passes to Mr Yon Arsal as Acting CEO of LPDP. Together, we continue these steps. Aligned in vision, moving in action, expanding in benefits, and delivering impact for Indonesia,” LPDP wrote on its social media page, quoted on Thursday (30/4/2026).
Yon Arsal is a rank I official who has long served at the Directorate General of Taxes, Ministry of Finance. He previously held the position of Director of Potential, Compliance, and Revenue at the Directorate General of Taxes from 2016 to 2020.
Meanwhile, Sudarto, Staff Advisor for State Expenditure, now also takes on the role of acting Director General of the Budget at the Ministry of Finance. He fills the vacancy left after Luky Alfirman was removed from his position.
“Thank you, Mr Sudarto, for your leadership that has transformed LPDP into a platform for national talent development. Through the integration of cross-ministerial scholarship services and strengthened governance, LPDP now moves more directionally, coordinately, and increasingly effectively in delivering benefits,” LPDP wrote.
