Purbaya Announces Two Replacements for Febrio and Luky

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has revealed two names to replace Febrio Kacaribu and Luky Alfirman, who were removed from their positions as Director General of Economic and Fiscal Strategy and Director General of Budget. Both senior officials were dismissed as of Tuesday, 21 April 2026.

The replacement officials’ names were announced by Purbaya during a media briefing at the Financial Education and Training Agency (BPPK) of the Ministry of Finance in Jakarta on Friday, 24 April 2026. The two appointees are Sudarto and Ferry Ardianto. “For the Director General of Budget, Mr Sudarto, and for the Director General of Economic and Fiscal Strategy, Mr Ferry,” he stated.

Sudarto previously served as Special Staff for State Expenditure Affairs. Meanwhile, Ferry Ardianto was formerly the Director of Welfare Strategy and Economic Equity at the Ministry of Finance.

Purbaya explained the reasons for selecting them, citing their capabilities in budget management and economics, as well as the educational backgrounds of the two officials, who are graduates from abroad. “So these are strong figures in the Finance Department, and indeed it’s time for their positions to be elevated now,” he said.

The dismissal of Febrio and Luky was previously confirmed by Purbaya on 22 April 2026. He has not yet determined what positions Febrio and Luky will take next. “Rest first, then we’ll find suitable places for them,” he said.

Previously, Purbaya had also replaced Masyita Crystallin from her position as Director General of Financial Sector Stability and Development. Masyita’s position was taken over by Herman Saheruddin as acting head (Plt).

The names to fill these three director general positions will be submitted to President Prabowo Subianto in May. “They will be submitted to the President, perhaps early or mid-May,” he said.
