Purbaya and Other Economic Sector Ministers Flock to the Palace

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto summoned several ministers from the economic sector to the Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday afternoon (7/4/2026). Kompas.com observations at the location revealed that those summoned included Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Rachmat Pambudy, Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, and Head of BPS Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti. When asked about the purpose of their visit, Purbaya admitted he did not yet know the topics to be discussed with Prabowo. When further asked if ministers’ salaries would be cut, Purbaya also claimed ignorance. “It hasn’t been discussed yet. We’ll see later; there was a discussion at that time, but we’re just monitoring,” added Airlangga.
