Purbaya Allocates Rp7 Trillion to BPS to Improve Decile Data Collection

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has confirmed that the government is continuing to improve the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN), which serves as the basis for determining deciles.

According to Purbaya, his ministry has already allocated a substantial budget to Statistics Indonesia (BPS) to improve the DTSEN and prepare for the 2026 National Economic Census.

“That is why the DTSEN is being improved. I have released quite a lot of money to BPS this year,” Purbaya said at the Ministry of Finance in Central Jakarta on Wednesday (26/8/2026).

Purbaya stated that the Ministry of Finance has disbursed approximately Rp7 trillion to BPS. According to him, the additional budget had been requested since the beginning of the year.

“So the DTSEN data and the economic census, if I am not mistaken, amount to almost Rp7 trillion, slightly more than Rp7 trillion. With various components, yes? Quite a lot, including for BPS.”

Purbaya explained that the Ministry of Finance approved the additional budget because the government wants the DTSEN to be even better. He expressed confidence in the improvements and the 2026 National Economic Census.

“So next year it should be better. There are always one or two errors in surveys, but I hope next year it will be more orderly,” he said.
