Jakarta, VIVA – Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has spoken out regarding the naming of former leaders of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) as suspects in an alleged corruption case involving the management of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme by the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung).

The suspects include the former Head of BGN, Dadan Hindayana, along with two former Deputy Heads, Sony Sonjaya and Lodewyk Pusung.

Purbaya admitted that his office was one of the providers of data and reports used as material for the investigation leading to the designation of the three former BGN officials as suspects.

“Perhaps one of the reports also came from us, but not just from us,” Purbaya stated at the House of Representatives (DPR RI) in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 3 June 2026.

“The BPKP (Finance and Development Supervisory Agency) is investigating, we are investigating, everyone is checking and verifying. So, we are essentially exchanging data,” he added.

Nevertheless, Purbaya emphasised that the entire process—from the removal of Dadan and his two deputies from their positions at BGN to the legal proceedings against the trio—was a decision made by President Prabowo.

This action was taken after President Prabowo conducted various evaluations regarding the performance of the former BGN leaders.

“This is the President’s decision, following an evaluation of their performance. We are not interfering,” he said.

It is known that the Attorney General’s Office previously stated that the investigation into the alleged corruption case refers to an order dated 29 May 2026. After the three individuals were interrogated as witnesses, the Attorney General’s Office subsequently named them as suspects.

The Attorney General’s Office obtained evidence alleging that Dadan had orchestrated the verification process for the establishment of the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) foundations. In reality, the MBG kitchens should have been managed by foundations within each school.

Findings from the Attorney General’s investigation also revealed evidence that the SPPG foundations affiliated with the three suspects—DH, SS, and LP—had been receiving billions of rupiah every day.
