Pura Barutama wins KPU tender

JAKARTA: The General Elections Commission (KPU) has declared PT Pura Barutama the winner of a tender to produce voter registration cards worth Rp 71 billion.

KPU chairman Nazaruddin Sjamsuddin said on Friday that the decision to declare Pura Barutama the winner was taken after the end of the period for lodging objections on Wednesday.

This is intended to allow the public to file objections against the awarding of the tender. The KPU reserves to right to reverse its decision should the members of the public make out a strong case against the winner.

The KPU member in charge of the registration cards tender, Hamid Awaluddin, said last week that based on a technical evaluation, Pura Barutama had scored 88, exceeding the minimum score of 80.

The closest contender to Pura Barutama was PT Wahyu Abadi with a score of 62.

Hamid said Pura Barutama had quoted Rp 69 billion for a total of 145 million registration cards, which was below the commission's estimate of Rp 71 billion. --JP
