JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (Pupuk Kaltim) has officially signed a Collective Labour Agreement (PKB) with the Workers’ Union Korps Karyawan Pupuk Kaltim (SP KKPKT) for the 2026–2028 period. Pupuk Kaltim’s President Director Gusrizal stated that this PKB represents an important step in maintaining the company’s sustainability while enhancing employee welfare amid changes in the national fertiliser industry. He added that the agreement also strengthens harmonious working relations between management and employees, ensuring that the collaboration process runs transparently and constructively. The drafting of the PKB was conducted through intensive bipartite negotiations between management and SP KKPKT. During this period, SP KKPKT is the only workers’ union that passed verification, so all discussions were conducted directly between the two parties. SP KKPKT General Chairman Partono described the negotiation process as dynamic yet prioritising deliberation. He emphasised that his side strived to advocate for employees’ aspirations while ensuring no decline in welfare. “Considering the company’s conditions and holding policies, employees’ rights remain protected,” he said. Labour Minister Yassierli appreciated the agreement. According to him, the well-run bipartite process demonstrates that industrial relations at Pupuk Kaltim align with the principles of social dialogue. Yassierli stressed the importance of consistent implementation of the PKB and encouraged elevating industrial relations from harmonious to synergistic and productive, to provide certainty and justice for all parties.
