Pupuk Kaltim and SP KKPKT Sign CBA for 2026–2028, Ensuring Harmonious Industrial Relations
Jakarta, VIVA – PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (Pupuk Kaltim) has signed the results of negotiations for the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), with the Serikat Pekerja Korps Karyawan Pupuk Kaltim (SP KKPKT) for the period 2026–2028. The Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, Yassierli, directly witnessed this commitment, along with representatives from Danantara and Pupuk Indonesia.
The President Director of Pupuk Kaltim, Gusrizal, stated that the CBA was agreed upon to ensure the sustainability of Pupuk Kaltim, while also safeguarding employee welfare amid the dynamics of the national fertiliser industry’s transformation. This is simultaneously a strategic step in strengthening harmonious, dynamic, and equitable industrial relations within the company environment.
“This is a tangible manifestation of our commitment to maintaining a balance between the company’s interests and employee welfare. At the same time, it is an important instrument to ensure that industrial relations at Pupuk Kaltim remain harmonious, adaptive, and sustainable,” said Gusrizal, quoted from his statement on Wednesday, 15 April 2026.
According to Gusrizal, the preparation of the CBA was carried out through an intensive bipartite negotiation process between management and SP KKPKT. During this period, SP KKPKT is the only labour union that meets the requirements and has passed verification to participate in the negotiations, so all discussions were conducted directly between the two parties as legitimate representatives.
Meanwhile, the General Chairman of SP KKPKT, Partono, conveyed that this year’s CBA negotiation process was full of dynamics. However, it still prioritised a spirit of deliberation and mutual respect.
Partono explained that SP KKPKT strived maximally to fight for the aspirations and interests of employees at every stage of the negotiations, so the results achieved represent the best compromise that can be accepted by both parties.
“We are aware that the company’s conditions and the direction of the holding’s policies also influence the substance of the CBA. However, we ensure that employees’ rights remain protected. There is no reduction in welfare, and that is the principle we firmly uphold in the negotiations,” clarified Partono.
The signing of the CBA is hoped to provide legal certainty for all parties in carrying out employment relations. In addition, it serves as a guide in creating more harmonious and equitable industrial relations, as well as supporting the sustainable continuity of Pupuk Kaltim.
“We appreciate the management’s openness in dialogue, as well as their willingness to seek joint solutions to various issues that arose during the negotiation process. This becomes the key to achieving a constructive agreement,” added Partono.
