Pupuk Indonesia Wins Multiple Awards at 2026 BUMN Excellence Awards
PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) has secured multiple awards at the 2026 BUMN Excellence Awards ceremony, demonstrating its commitment to strengthening industrial efficiency and good corporate governance (GCG). The company’s Chief Executive Officer Rahmad Pribadi was recognised as The Best CEO Visionary Leadership, whilst the corporation received four additional accolades: First Prize for Best Growth Strategy, First Prize for Best Strategic Collaboration, and Second Prize for Best Corporate Organisation Transformation.
Rahmad stated that business transformation is essential to sustaining company performance and strengthening the fertiliser sector’s contribution to national food security. He emphasised that transformation through factory revitalisation and improved governance represents the foundation for maintaining company performance and supporting Indonesia’s food self-sufficiency.
Under Rahmad’s leadership, the company is implementing strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency and production optimisation, including a programme to develop and revitalise seven factories over the next five years, whilst maintaining security of raw material supplies and strengthening fertiliser distribution networks across Indonesia.
The company is preparing new business ventures, including expansion of methanol product portfolios and derivatives, clean ammonia development, and strengthening of the industrial support sector. These initiatives support more effective management of subsidised national fertiliser in both production and distribution.
These efforts align with the implementation of Presidential Regulation Number 113 of 2026, which refined Presidential Regulation Number 6 of 2025 concerning subsidised fertiliser governance. Through improved efficiency, the government achieved a historic reduction in subsidised fertiliser retail prices of 20 per cent in October 2025.
The company’s success in balancing business growth with its government mandate to ensure subsidised fertiliser availability for farmers contributed to Pupuk Indonesia receiving the Best Growth Strategy award.
For the Best Strategic Collaboration category, Pupuk Indonesia was recognised for establishing global partnerships to strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesia’s fertiliser industry. Key collaborations include working with PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad to strengthen urea and ammonia supply chains, and partnering with Somiphos of Algeria to reinforce phosphate raw material supplies.
Pupuk Indonesia actively participates in global industry forums, including serving as a permanent board member of the International Fertiliser Association and participating in international forums such as the Argus Fertiliser Asia Conference and the Conference of the Parties (COP).
The Best Corporate Organisation Transformation award recognised the company’s success in executing organisational transformation and developing human resources sustainably. Through these programmes, the company seeks to build an adaptive, innovative workplace culture with global competitiveness.
Several Pupuk Indonesia subsidiaries also received awards at the ceremony. PT Petrokimia Gresik’s Chief Executive Officer Daconi Khotob received the Best CEO Visionary Leadership award for BUMN subsidiaries. PT Petrokimia Gresik and PT Pupuk Kujang received the Best Company Growth Strategy award, whilst PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur won the Best Company Business Innovation award.
Rahmad affirmed that these awards serve as motivation for the company to continue enhancing efficiency and strengthening governance. He stated: “These awards drive us to continue improving efficiency, strengthening governance, enhancing performance, and ensuring Pupuk Indonesia Group continues to contribute to supporting food self-sufficiency and national economic development.”
The BUMN Excellence Awards ceremony, held annually for 15 years, recognises BUMN and subsidiary companies judged as successfully strengthening governance, optimising state assets, and making tangible contributions to national economic development.
